Examsoft is an assessment software used to create, administer, and analyze the results of secure online exams. The platform aids in increasing academic integrity, easing the grading process for faculty, and providing student performance insights. Courses across many different colleges at Boston University utilize this platform, but Questrom ITS only supports the courses within Questrom that use Examsoft.

Examsoft vs. Examplify

Two main components are used for the implementation of secure exams. Examsoft is the web-based portal in which faculty and administrators can create, manage, and analyze exams, whereas Examplify is the application that students must download on their computers in order to take the exam. In short, Examsoft is for exam-makers and Examplify is for exam-takers.

Requirements

For faculty and administrators, all that is required is an Examsoft account and an internet connection. Supported browsers include Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Students need a personal computer that meets the minimum system requirements. Generally, computers running Windows 10 or Windows 11, as well as the latest three Mac operating systems will be supported. On their computer, they must download and install the Examplify application in order to gain access to their scheduled exams.
