Blackboard is the learning management system that Boston University courses use for providing course information, learning materials, and repositories for assignment submissions. Questrom courses are in the process of being converted from Questrom Tools (Sakai) to Blackboard Ultra. Our role working with Blackboard is to aid faculty in transferring content from their Questrom Tools sites to their newly created Blackboard sites, as well as provide solutions to technical troubles that faculty face when managing their course site.

The following documentation contains an overview on Blackboard Ultra use cases.

Blackboard’s Help Center has information on the various user roles and the differences in levels of permission.

Blackboard Original vs. Blackboard Ultra

Blackboard Ultra refers to the course view that contains updated design and workflows for both faculty and students. Specific differences between the Ultra course view and Original view can be found on the BU TechWeb website. Questrom courses use the Ultra course view, so staff and faculty should reference materials relating specifically to Ultra.
